As a new mother, I was looking for a way to document the little everyday moments that meant so much to me. Sleepily nursing in the sliver of light from my bedroom window. Their squishy arms up against mine while reading their favorite book again and again. Weekends filled with blobby pancakes and slow hikes with ample snacks. Sure I wanted to remember their perfect faces, but even more, I couldn’t lose sight of those moments, their childhood, my learning how to be a mom.
I taught myself photography because I needed a way to hold on to those moments, and I had to think someone else needed that too.
